Joanna Ruth McDonald passed away on July 21, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital at Kokomo, IN.

She was born May 1, 1941 at Noblesville, IN to her parents, Neal Lewis and Mary Lucille (Findling) Johnson. Her parents preceded her in death.

Joanna is survived by her husband, Joseph Ray McDonald of Sharpsville, IN, a brother: Steven H. Johnson of Kokomo, IN, nephews: Matt Johnson of Benbrook, TX and Neal Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, step-daughters: Carmen Valentine of Anderson, IN, Cathy Cucuz of Fishers, IN. and a stepson: Mike McDonald of Colorado Springs, CO.

Joanna graduated from Prairie High School, Tipton County with the Class of 1959 and attended Stephens College at Columbus, Missouri in 1960. She then returned to Indiana to begin working and decided later to return to college. She chose Indiana University Indianapolis School of Social Work, graduating May 12, 1985 with a Bachelor's Degree. then completed her Master's Degree graduating with high honors on May 11, 1986.

She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers, certified on November 13, 1989. She had worked in Indianapolis, Logansport and Vincinnes.

Joanna married Joseph, the love of her life, on the 12th of June 1991 in Sevier County, Gatlinburg, TN, returning home with her husband to reside near Sharpsville, IN for 27 happy years.

Due to her love of animals, especially dogs, we ask that memorial contributions be made in Joanna's memory to the Kokomo Humane Society, 713 North Elizabeth Street, Kokomo, IN 46901.
