James Christopher Carte, age 53, of Kokomo, IN died February 19, 2018 at his home. He was born November 25, 1964 at Indianapolis, IN to James David and Mary Jo (Glisson) Carte. His mother preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School with the Class of 1983. He then completed HVAC classes at Ivy Tech, later accomplishing journeyman status as an electrician. He was an independent worker through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW.)

He enjoyed working on cars, with his favorite being the Corvette. He was a member of the Indy Corvettes. He also enjoyed watching car races and attending car shows.

Surviving him is a son: Shane Christopher Carte of New Orleans, LA. Additional survivors include his father: Don (Holly) Carte of Russiaville, IN, siblings: Leann (Tim) Castor of Tipton, IN, Dave (Debbie) Carte of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Kerry (Krista) Carte of Kokomo, IN, Patrick Carte of Kokomo, IN and Todd Carte of Fishers, IN and his former wife: Stephanie Dunn of Jonesboro, IN.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February, 24, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN, 46034, with visitation from 4:00 until time of the services.
