Debra Jean Hawkins, age 66, of Arcadia, IN died July 12, 2017 at her home.

She was born September 17, 1950 at Vandalia, Illinois to Wayne Meredith and Hazel (Dalton) Hornbeck. They preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Western High School near Kokomo, IN with the Class of 1968 and married Eric Hawkins that same year. Debra loved her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed working jig saw puzzels, watching and feeding the birds, and gardening. She was a talented floral arranger and musician. She performed publicly, playing the accordian and piano and many attested that she was a very gifted soloist.

Surviving her is her husband Eric Hawkins, Son: Jerrale (Maki) Hawkins of Cicero, IN, Daughter: Melanie Ann (Trampess) Engle of Cicero, IN, Brother: David Wayne Hornbeck of Rochester, IN, Sister: Rebecca Ann Willis of Flora, IN and the following grandchildren: Ashleigh Engle, Levi Robert Engle, Riley Elizabeth Engle, Brook Ann Hawkins and Boyce Michel Hawkins.

Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034 with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M.
