Carl Jack Webb, age 92 of rural Arcadia, IN died April 25, 2017 at Riverview Health at Noblesville, IN.

He was born June 4, 1924 near Arcadia, IN to Roy and Ruth (Carson) Webb. As sometimes happened during the Great Depression, Jack was fostered with his aunt, Marie Webb Carpenter and her husband Howard Carpenter starting at the age of 12.

He was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School with the Class of 1942 where he played basketball and fast pitch softball. He became an avid baseball fan the rest of his life.

Jack, as he was known, served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WW II, and was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. Following the war he married the love of his life, Miriam Eloise (Schmollinger) Webb on August 16, 1947. Their time together was cut short when she passed away in 1977 at the age of 49. Jack never remarried.

He was a member of Omega Christian Church, the Cicero American Legion and VFW, and he was a Mason. Jack spent most of his adult life as a farmer and was also a volunteer fireman for White River Township. He assisted at the Walnut Grove Little League and with projects at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds. Jack was a hard worker, a good neighbor and a good friend to many. His family related this his life was not easy, but until recently always said he was "glad to still be here". He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by three children and their spouses: Mike (Sue) Webb, Carole (Bruce) Nicholson, and Tom (Vicki) Webb, grandsons: Ezekiel Webb, Isaiah (Sara) Mosser Webb, Jacob (Lynn) Webb and two great-granddaughters: Zinnia and Eloise Grace.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Jeff, brother Richard Webb, sisters: Frances Solti, Marian Alvey, Anita Conway, Ladonna Moon and Phyllis Hill.

The family would like to than all of Jack's caregivers, especially Shirley, Kristen and Tammy. Their wonderful care enabled him to live at home until his recent illness.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN 46034, with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the services. Burial will occur at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Arcadia Cemetery.
